Graduate Assistantships Available for 2012-13
James E. Brooks Library
Central Washington University
Ellensburg, Washington

The James E. Brooks Library announces a graduate assistantship program
for individuals who currently hold an MLS, or equivalent, and who desire
a second subject master’s degree. This one-year program, with a
possible one-year extension, allows an individual to study in most of
the university’s graduate programs while gaining valuable professional
experience in an academic library. Ideal for new or experienced
librarians, candidates must apply to the Office of Graduate Studies and
Research at CWU and be accepted into a program prior to being offered an
assistantship in the Brooks Library.

Graduate assistantship benefits include a salary of $8,100 per academic
year, partial tuition waiver, health insurance and health center fees
totaling approximately $17,000 per academic year. Please contact the
Office of Graduate Studies and Research for further information on
tuition waivers and fees. Summer study and employment opportunities may
also be available.

Opportunities are available for candidates to gain professional
experience in all departments in the library, including reference,
instruction, library technology and systems, circulation and public
services, outreach, archives and records management, serials and
electronic resources, government publications, maps and microforms, and
cataloging.
