Cheryl Rowan (Consumer Health Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region) will provide an overview of the evolution of consumer health and then focus in on health literacy and the e-patient. Participants will be equipped with knowledge of top consumer health sites, e-patient resources, collection development core lists, and consumer health ethics. As this is such an essential topic for libraries, staff are encouraged to view these webinars in groups. A hands-on exercise will be provided during part one and participants will be encouraged to complete it (along with fellow library staff, if applicable) prior to attending part two, when the answers to the exercise will be discussed.
